Multi-association contact center and customer care networking event raises more than $7,000 for vital community services non-profit

Atlanta, GA – July 5, 2011:  The Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals – Georgia Chapter, American Teleservices Association – Southeastern Chapter, International Customer Service Association, Call Center Networking Group and the Customer Relationship Management Association joined together on June 9th at The Retreat at Perimeter Summit to kick off the summer with the largest multi-association networking event for Contact Center and Customer Care professionals in the Southeast. Event sponsor Presence Technology, a global provider of all-in-one contact center technology, partnered with sponsor companies and more than 300 event attendees to present this benefit event in support of Atlanta’s Children’s Shelter.

“This is the 10th year we’ve organized a Summer Social here in Atlanta, and this year is by far the largest Summer Social we’ve hosted and the first time we’ve added a charitable component to the event. We could not have done it without the help of our sponsors and committee volunteers,” said Committee Chair Darlene Geller-Stoff, President of Direct Communication Specialists. “The event took more than six months to plan and our committee this year included volunteers from Coca-Cola, the Georgia Department of Agriculture, MARTA, Assurant Group and Ranstad among others.”

Founded in 1986, the Atlanta Children's Shelter provides free quality day care, emotional support and educational curriculum for homeless children and focused social services for their families. Dedicated to helping families overcome the issues that contribute to homelessness, including domestic violence and job loss, the Atlanta Children's Shelter focuses on the long-term self sufficiency of the family – which sets them apart from other Atlanta homeless shelters.
